Seventeen-year-old Chisom Chukwuneke who was the best candidate in the 2019 West African Senior Secondary Certificate Examination (WASSCE) in her school has passed away. She died in South Africa after a battle with blood cancer. Chisom had bagged seven distinctions during last year’s WASSCE. Chisom’s father identified as Felix Chukwuneke, in a tribute on his Facebook page explained how her sickness started with leg pain, lamenting the poor condition of Nigerian health sector.
