The manager of the Nigerian national team, Gernot Rohr has expressed optimism about Super Eagles performance when the race for the 2022 FIFA World Cup kick-off in June 2021. Rohr has declared that he has enough confidence in the team especially with the recent feat achieved. Super Eagles qualified for the 2021 AFCON with two games to spare over the weekend. “Nigerians should expect good football again and on a good pitch I hope. Lagos did very well but they still have to improve especially in the area of traffic. It’s going to be a serious World Cup qualification. The record of our results are very good and I know we were unbeaten in all our away games (during the AFCON qualifiers) which is wonderful and very nice. We have to continue because we want to be always the best but at the same time you can’t win all your matches”, he said. The Eagles are in Group C with Cape Verde, Central African Republic and Liberia in the 2022 World Cup qualifiers.
