The spokesman for the Nigerian Army,Colonel Sani Usman, has said 4 soldiers and 22 Boko Haram militants lost their lives after the group’s attack on troop’s location at Logomani along Dikwa-Gambarou road in Borno state. Usman said at about 1.00am on Sunday 25th September 2016, some suspected remnants of Boko Haram fighters attacked the troop’s location at Logomani, in a three waves attack using 36 hand grenades and rocket propelled launchers. Usman said: “Our troops fought gallantly and repelled the attack which lasted for about one hour. At the end of the fierce encounter, the troops counted 22 dead bodies of Boko Haram fighters. They also recovered two AK-47 Rifles, one FN Rifle, one G3 Rifle and some 36 hand grenades. Unfortunately, we troops lost four soldiers and their rifles as a result of the effect of Boko Haram use of Rocket Propelled Grenades, while two soldiers were wounded in action.”
