The acting Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party(PDP), Board of Trustees , Senator Walid Jibrin in a memo named 9 women as founding mothers of the party. The listing of the women was the first time the party would have founding mothers since it was formed in 1998. According to the memo, the founding mothers are former Minister of Aviation, Dr.Kema Chikwe, Mrs. Esther Audu, Mrs. Justina Eze, Mrs. Josephine Anenih, Prof. Stella Efta-Atoe, Mrs. Patience Agodo, Senator Stella Omu, Mrs. Inna Ciroma and Mrs. Musa Kida. The memo by Jibrin to the BoT and the NEC of PDP on the matter said, “The following nine women are upgraded to the status of Founding Mothers based on their involvement in the party since inception in 1998/1999.”
