Pa Reuben Fasoranti has withdrawn his resignation letter following an appeal by leaders of Afenifere, a socio-political group. The leaders yesterday unanimously rejected the resignation of Pa Reuben Fasoranti who initially resigned as their chairman. Briefing newsmen after the 4-hour meeting, the group’s Publicity Secretary, Yinka Odumakin said, “The leaders of Afenifere have pleaded with Pa Fasoranti to continue as our leader. He has graciously agreed to withdraw the resignation letter and to continue as the leader of the group.”
In a communique issued by the group, it states in parts that: “Following the offer to step aside by our chairman, the meeting appreciated the selfless work of our Leader, Chief Fasoranti since 2004 up till date. Inspite of his old age, he has discharged his responsibility well, is a man of character, he’s somebody that maintains the balance and we appreciate him for that.The meeting therefore unanimously resolved to reject his offer to step aside as leader of Afenifere, we have pleaded with him to carry on his responsibility as the leader of Afenifere. We are glad to inform you that after listening to the meeting, our leader, Chief Fasoranti graciously accepted to carry on and has withdrawn his resignation letter.”
