The United Kingdom, UK, has placed a travel ban 11 African countries. Therefore, from Sunday, January 10, they will be prevented from entering into England. Furthermore, the restriction will last for two weeks. In a statement released on the UK’s government website, it was disclosed that this is in efforts to curb the spread of a new COVID-19 variant already identified in South Africa. The statement is titled, ‘Travel restrictions update: South Africa ban extended, Israel (and Jerusalem)’ . The statement read in parts: “Entry into England will be banned to those who have travelled from or through any southern African country in the last 10 days”.
