There are have been reports of more looting of warehouses by Nigerians in the past few hours. These food items are suspected to have been horded instead of being distributed during the lockdown due to Coronavirus pandemic in the country.
Residents of Ede, Ido-Osun and Ofatedo areas of Osun State on Friday stormed a cocoa industry warehouse and cart away with food items meant to serve as palliatives in the state. Food items such as noodles, rice, spaghetti and different food items donated to the State government by Cacovid were looted by residents.
Hoodlums also broke into government warehouse in Akure, Ondo state, and looted COVID-19 palliatives stored there. They also reportedly set the warehouse ablaze. This warehouse is located within the Chief Magistrate court premises in Akure metropolis.
A yet to be identified hoodlums also reportedly invaded another Lagos State Food Warehouse at Agric Bus Stop, in Ojo, along Lagos Badagry Expressway area and emptied the place this morning.
Recall that yesterday, hoodlums also burst into a warehouse in Mazamaza area of Festac, and stole various food items meant for COVID-19 palliatives.
