The government of Morocco has banned all forms of New Year’s Eve celebrations. This is in a bid to curb the rising coronavirus cases. The government also put a curfew in place from midnight until 6:00 AM on January 1, 2022. This ban extends to parties in hotels and tourist sites. Restaurants and cafes have been directed to close at 11.30 pm. The first case of the new variant of Covid-19 was detected in the country on December 15, 2021.
