Brigadier-General Lawal Jafaru Isa(retd.) was military administrator of Kaduna State during the regime of late General Sani Abacha. He was the Kano State governorship candidate of the defunct Congress for Progressives Change (CPC) in 2011. Jafaru Isa, who is one of President Muhammadu Buhari’s close allies and now an APC chieftain, was on Wednesday(6th January 2016) night arrested by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission(EFCC) at his Asokoro, Abuja home. Jafarau Isa reportedly received over N100million from the embattled Col. Sambo Dasuki(retd). Jafaru Isa is said to be Dasuki’s close friend.
