After massive protests for the release of arrested suspects in the murder of Deborah Samuel on Thursday, the governor of Sokoto State, Aminu Tambuwal, declared a 24-hour curfew in the state. Recall that EnewsNigeria had earlier reported that Muslim extremists at the Shehu Shagari College of Education burnt Deborah to death over alleged blasphemy against Muhammed on Thursday at the school premises. Several suspects have been arrested following the killing of the Christian student. However, on Saturday morning, Sokoto was rocked by protests as thousands of protesters called for the release of Deborah’s killers.
