The Social Democratic Party, SDP Candidate, Dr Olu Agunloye, has been described as a man of integrity, who can be entrusted with governance of the state, by the Deji of Akure, Oba Aladetoyinbo Aladelusi. Oba Aladetoyinbo made the remark while receiving the campaign team of SDP and its candidate in his palace, in Akure. The traditional ruler confirmed that Dr. Agunloye is a son of Akure by maternal birth, adding that if elected as governor “it will be good for the development of Akure Kingdom.” He noted that the close link of the SDP flag bearer with Chief Falae will provide the required bridge for excellent governance.
Oba Aladetoyinbo reaffirmed his commitment to the Akure agenda which also favours Dr. Agunloye and enjoined the people of Akure to make the best choice among the candidates for the development and progress of Akure. The monarch said that he had made personal investigations and confirmed that Dr. Agunloye has contributed to the growth of his family house in Ojomu Uro, where his mother regularly hosts family meetings, adding, “Agunloye is one of our great sons.” The National Chairman of the party, Chief Olu Falae, said Agunloye’s leadership qualities were not in doubt having served as a minister and FRSC Corps Marshal without blemish. Dr. Agunloye restated his readiness to develop Akure to an enviable standard, being one of the sons of the city and from there pursue the development of Ondo state at large. He lamented that apart from two major roads along Oba Adesida and Arakale, the state capital had not experienced the desired urban development befitting her status.
