Three separate state congresses were conducted at different venues by the Peoples Democratic Party in Ogun State yesterday. To this end, the congresses produced three parallel state executives. The separate state congresses were conducted by the loyalists of the Senator representing Ogun East, Buruji Kashamu; the member representing Remo Constituency in the House of Representatives, Ladi Adebutu and those of the former Speaker of the House of Representatives, Dimeji Bankole. Kashamu’s group which held its state congress inside the state secretariat produced Chief Bayo Dayo as chairman while the Adebutu faction in its congress conducted inside the amphitheatre of the Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library produced a two-time member of the Ogun State House of Assembly and former chairman of Ifo Local Government Area, Sikirulahi Ogundele as chairman. The Bankole faction which held its congress at Ake Palace ground also elected a former commissioner under the Gbenga Daniel administration, Chief Wale Egunleti as its state chairman.
