The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has arrested the Chief of Staff to Adamawa State governor, Abdurrahman Abba as he is currently being investigated in connection with a scam involving billions of naira in public funds when he served as Commissioner and Chief of Staff under former governor, Murtala Nyako. Some days before his arrest, a block of shops allegedly belonging to him were sealed off by the EFCC. Abba is reportedly linked to N2.8 billion naira allegedly siphoned from the state government through a contract for renovation of Yola International Hotel. The governor’s aide is also being held over a property he bought from former Personal Assistant to ex-governor Nyako, Jafaru Maliki. The property is built on a land carved from the campus of the State Polytechnic Yola and allocated to individuals.
