Following the outrage by millions of Nigerians whose accounts have been frozen for the next 1 month by the decision of Ponzi scheme Mavrodi Mondial Moneybox on Tuesday, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission(EFCC) has mocked some Twitter users who turned to the anti-graft agency for action. Recall the Federal Government had warned participants on the danger of the scheme.
A tweeter @Lolami_Boo tweeted at EFCC that, “Where the hell was @officialEFCC ?? Isn’t it your job to stop crap like this???” The EFCC replied: “You mean amongst the plethora of venality we fight daily? Ponzi schemes aren’t sustainable. There were a number of warnings. #DontDoIt. If it looks or sounds too good to be true, it almost always is. Do NOT patronize wonder banks. Protect yourself. #DontDoIt. Respect your hard work and be content. Please stay away from quick return schemes. Please.”
