The Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Mohammed Adamu, on Thursday, denied police involvement in ending the activities of States’ Judicial Panel of Inquiry. Adamu has ordered the immediate investigations into a suit allegedly challenging the legality of the States’ Judicial Panel of Inquiry. This directive was disclosed is a statement release by the Nigerian Police Force on it’s official twitter account. There were rumours that Police were taking steps to stop the hearing at the Panel of Inquiry investigating allegations by Nigerians against officers of the defunct SARS.
Meanwhile, the Force Legal Officer has been queried and may face further sanctions if found guilty of dereliction of duty.
