On Wednesday, 15th June 2016, with permission from the Governor of Borno State, social entrepreneur and philanthropist Princess Modupe Ozolua returned to Bama where she evacuated more children and their families with the Borno State SEMA. Trucks of food were also sent and distributed at the camp by the Governor who also went to see the malnourished children and women rescued from Boko Haram. Despite heavy rains, Ozolua and her team were in the rain for over 3hours selecting children to be evacuated and successfully moved over 500 people.
The selected children were then driven to a secure location in Maiduguri to immediately receive treatment from Doctors Without Borders and food provided by Borno State SEMA. One of the extremely malnourished children evacuated from Bama to Maiduguri and transferred to the hospital is Hadiza. Hadiza has received several blood infusions and is responding to treatment. Toys donated from Houston, Texas through Ozolua were given to Hadiza and other evacuated malnourished children receiving treatment at the hospital.
