A former Minister of External Affairs, and the first Under-Secretary-General and Special Adviser to the UN Secretary-General on Africa, Professor (Ambassador) Ibrahim Gambari, has said that only one person cannot sustain the change agenda. The scholar-cum-diplomat stated this in Abuja on Monday during the presentation/launch of a book, “Muhammadu Buhari: The Challenges of Leadership in Nigeria”, authored by a professor of International Studies, John Paden.
Gambari, who is one of the reviewers of the book, said: “It needs to be repeated and repeated again that the sustainability of the agenda of change cannot be dependent on one person, and must invlove a collective endeavour to open a new chapter in our national life. President Buhari is leading the fight for the ordinary people and we must support him. A wholesale attitudinal change, by whatever name that it is called, combined with a new code of leadership and followership needs to be embraced across different segments of the society and institutions of governance.”
