The founder of Foundation for Contemporary and Modern Visual Art, Mr. Yinka Fisher recently celebrated his 70th birthday. A birthday service held in his honor at Our Saviour’s Church T.B.S (Anglican Communion) in Lagos. In attendance were the Primate of the Church of Nigeria Nicholas Okoh, Alake of Egbaland HRM Oba M A A Gbadebo CFR, Anglican Archbishops, Bishops, and other dignitaries.
For those not in the know, Fisher holds an honours degree (1972) in Psychology from the University of Lagos. He worked as a Junior Research Fellow, Special Assistant and also helped set up the Nigerian Conservation Foundation. He established thereafter, ICT companies which he presently heads.
A keen former cricketer and sports administrator heading the Nigeria and West Africa, Cricket Association and Conference respectively. He was in the 1990’s, a member of the International Cricket Council (ICC), representing West Africa for 4 years. For nearly 40 years he has been an avid art collector and a patron of the arts.
