The Lagos State Government today shutdown the popular Landmark Event Centre, DNA Nightclub, and nine other event and recreational centres for flouting COVID-19 protocols. The Chief Press Secretary to the Lagos State Governor, Gbenga Akosile, disclosed this in a statement on Twitter. Akosile said the Lagos State Safety Commission has been out on routine enforcement and monitoring activities throughout the holiday season to monitor to enforce compliance with the Governments directive on the COVID19 pandemic. Some other facilities sealed are DNA Night Club, Buzz Bar, Silverfox, Cocoon, Westend Nightclub, Rumours, Lekki Waterside, and The Wave Beach club. Nigeria is currently experiencing a second wave of coronavirus and Lagos state has been an epicentre. The closure of the outfits follows the new COVID-19 protocols rolled out by the state governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, few days ago.
