High-grade pure crack heroin weighing 10.6kg with street value over N200 million has been intercepted by officers of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MAKIA) in Kano. Addressing newsmen during a press briefing, the airport Commander of the NDLEA, Mr. Abrose Umoru stated that the luggage was on board of Ethiopian flight number ET 491from Addis Ababa, and that the intercepted exhibit was originated from Maputo in Mozambique en route Addis Ababa to Kano. According to Umoru, the exhibit was concealed in eight submersible water pump machines placed inside two cartons wrapped with branded Vodacom transparent cellophane leather.
