Nigeria as become the first country where the World Health Organisation‘s mobile application for Coronavirus will be in use. This as been disclosed in a tweet on the official account of the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC). Announcing that the app is now available in Nigeria, NCDC also stated that the country had supported its development. “We’re pleased to share the new @WHO #COVID19 mobile app, now available in Nigeria. Nigeria is the first country where this app is in use & we’re pleased to have supported its development”, NCDC tweeted.
The app gives users information about COVID-19 symptoms and how to protect themselves and their community from the virus. It keeps the user updated on the latest COVID-19 news, from vaccine progress to global statistics, from both the WHO and its partners. It was launched on December 28, 2020.
