Northern Elders Forum (NEF) has called for the resignation of President Muhammadu Buhari following the increasing security challenges in the country. The Director, Publicity and Advocacy, Dr. Hakeem Baba-Ahmed, in an interview with Channels Television noted that life had lost its value under the present administration. The Forum also expressed outrage over the massacre of Borno rice farmers. He added that the demand for Buhari to resign is due to the absence of political will to fight the Boko Haram insurgency and other threats such as banditry, rustling and kidnapping.
