Senate Majority Leader, Mitch McConnell has ruled out a Senate impeachment trial for President Donald Trump before Joe Biden’s inauguration. The incoming President, Biden’s inauguration is scheduled for January 20. In a statement released on Twitter, McConnell said “There is simply no chance that a fair or serious trial could conclude before President-elect Biden is sworn in next week”. “This is not a decision I am making; it is a fact,” he added. McConnell’s comments follows the House of Representatives vote to impeach Trump yesterday.
