Nollywood suffered a great loss today as veteran actor Ernest Asuzu passed away. Asuzu died on Tuesday after he suddenly slumped. His death was confirmed by the President of the Actors Guild of Nigeria, Emeka Rollas. Channels Television reports that Asuzu was rushed to the hospital after he slumped but died before they got to the hospital. “Yes, it is confirmed. I have reached out to his wife. He has been battling with various health challenges like blood pressure. But some kind-hearted Nigerians helped in the past and he was treated. The actor was hit with stroke in 2015 and this kept him out of the scene. He is popularly known as El-cream. Asuzu began his acting career in the ’90s and rose to prominence after he starred in the 1997 Nollywood classic, ‘Rituals’.
