The House of Representatives today refuted claims that it apologized to President Muhammadu Buhari for summoning him over security challenges. Recall, that lawmakers invited Buhari in November for questioning. The President, in the first instance,accepted this invitation, then decline days later. The decision of the President stems the Minister of Justice and Attorney General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami’s advice. Malami stated that the house had no constitutional power to invite Buhari. The house explained that the presidency neither asked for an apology, nor was any tendered, in a statement released on it’s official twitter handle today. This follows reports by some news outfits that the lawmakers apologised.
