The National Association of Resident Doctors has suspended its nationwide strike. According to the President of the association, Dr. Godiya Ishaya, the suspension of the strike will take effect from 8am. NARD embarked on a strike in the first week of August. The strike action was in protest against the irregular payment of salaries amongst other issues. Prior to the suspension, various stakeholders, including President Muhammadu Buhari and the House of Representatives, put forth efforts to ensure resident doctors shelved the strike, but to no avail.
