The chairman of Yoruba socio-political organisation Afenifere, Chief Reuben Fasoranti, yesterday, described as unjust the substitution of the PDP Governorship Candidate, Eyitayo Jegede, SAN by the Independent National Electoral Commission(INEC). Pa Fasoranti said this in Akure while adding that the whole process appeared set for manipulation, warning that the consequences might be undesirable.
According to Pa Fasoranti: “The INEC decision was wrong. It is arbitrary. There is no basis for it. Ibrahim went to hold his primary in Ibadan and not here. That is not fair. If he wants to be sincere and honest, the thing should be held here. I am bold enough to say that. So the process is set for manipulation. And in any case, Jegede is the choice of the people. Certainly, this is not an issue of party affiliation. His primary was held here.”We watched it on television. It will be better if the government reverses its own decision in the interest of peace to allow the people to decide on the person they want.”
