Thank you, God, for giving me another year of life.
Happy 45th birthday to Me!
Thank you so much for taking time out to wish me a happy birthday. Everyone has their big day once in a year and yeahhh today I am celebrating my 45th birthday ( don’t you dare say anything……am 45 years old today!!! LOL). And It is always refreshing and encouraging to have people send their love on this very special day. Wow!! What a great way to grow a bit older.
I am grateful for another year of my life. I thank God for all the experiences of this past year – for times of success which will always be happy memories; for times of failure which reminded me of my own weaknesses and of my need for Him. I continue to appreciate the love and support I enjoy from familly and friends – I am truly blessed.
Like my last birthday (and the one before, and the one before that…..), that I made promises to myself, this one is no exception. Yet again, I’ve made some Notes to Self – get healthy; EXERCISE; make each day count; aim to be a positive influence in someone else’s life; stop eating bread & all those yummy sweet sugary cakes that I SO love (sob…sob); have tons of fun with friends and family; push the envelope beyond the actual table, at least, write chapter two of my 12 year old unfinished book (!), and oh yes, become a real embarrassing nuisance to those two special gifts that God blessed me with, who believe anyone over 25 is old and 40 is ancient and keep saying to me, “You’re old Mum” (kids, you’re in for it), whilst I continue to strive to be the very best Me that I can ever be, In Shaa Allah.
On my bathroom mirror is a little yellow Post-it with my personal mantra, which says, “To Grow And To Give.” As I get older by the day, it has taken on a deeper meaning, motivating and inspiring at the same time. Today, I’ve added another one which says, “Trust God and get going”, as actions conquer fear, and life is just too short for long stories….
May Allah help me in the days ahead to make this the best year yet, and through it to bring good credit to myself, happiness and pride to my loved ones, and joy to you. Amen.
Thank you SO SO much. May God bless you and your loved ones.
