Abubakar Sani-Bello, governor of Niger state has debunked the rumour that the students and staff abducted at Government Science College, Kagara have been released. There had been widespread rumour on social media that they had been released by their abductors late in the evening on Thursday, to a foremost Islamic scholar based in Kaduna State, Sheikh Ahmed Gumi. Sanni-Bello affirms that the government was in last stage of negotiations with the bandit. In addition, he promised that the victims would be released soon.
