The Teslim Balogun stadium will host the Super Eagles as the team takes on Lesotho in their final 2021 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier. This was disclosed by the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF). The match is scheduled for March 30, 2021. Speaking with BBC Sport Africa, NFF officials noted that the number of fans allowed in to the stadium to watch the match will depend on the Confederation of African Football’s Covid-19 protocols at the time. Chairman of the Lagos State Sports commission, Sola Aiyepekun, also disclosed that Lagos is excited to ‘host the country’s first competitive fixture in 20 years in a place where the team rarely lose’. The last men’s senior football match played in the stadium was in January 2001 when Nigeria faced Zambia in the Nations Cup.
