This video was shared by a traveller Big Daddy Jay who tweeted earlier today via his handle @0lajide the state of the Sam Mbakwe International Cargo Airport in Owerri, the Imo State capital. The airport which is also known as Imo State Airport serves Owerri, the capital city of Imo State. The airport is named in honor of a former governor and politician-philanthropist, the late Chief Sam Mbakwe of Imo State. It is the first state government-built airport. Navy Commodore Anthony E. Oguguo who was appointed military governor of Imo State in Nigeria from 1990 to 1992 during the military regime of General Ibrahim Babangida(retd.), commissioned and built the Imo State airport that still operates today.
