The Delta State chapter of Labour Party(LP) has suspended Chief Great Ogboru who last week resigned his membership from the party. Ogboru’s move has prompted the party to suspend him and 12 other LP members. According to the suspension letter signed by LP national chairman Alhaji A.A. Salam, it stated in parts that: “Chief Great Ovedje Ogboru, with his frivolous allegation of agreement deal with the party, handing over the administration to one Comr. Emeka Nkwoala JP without evidence is a fallacy and vexatious. This is because it is evidenced that the Labour Party Delta State had conducted congresses from the ward level to state level respectively.
“Consequently, with his anti-party activities resigned to an unfounded and unknown chairman created by him, but not the pragmatic, amiable and prestifious Labour Party chairman, Chief Tony C. Ezeagwu, JP who did not receive any resignation letter from Chief Great Ovedje Ogboru but in the pages of the national daily. On this note, therefore, the punitive authority of Labour Party has found these persons wanting and stand suspended indefinitely from the party.” The suspension letter further states that the suspended persons should not call or attend any meetings of the political party.
