Barely 36 hours after he was rushed to the National Hospital, Abuja after collapsing during the PDP Zonal Congress on Tuesday, 26 April 2016, the National Publicity Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), today, appeared for trial to avoid his bail being revoked. Speaking to newsmen after Justice Okon Abang adjourned the case, Metuh said he had to be in court despite doctors’ advice because he knows he is still on bail. According to him, “The truth is that in the course of this case a lot of things have been said and a lot of insinuations. I can’t wait to defend the accusations. There are a lot of things the public don’t know yet and I need to let them to know.” Metuh is being arraigned by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on allegations of receiving the sum of N400 million arms funds from the office of the former National Security Adviser (NSA) retired Col. Sambo Dasuki through his company, Destra Investments Ltd in December 2014. The case has been adjourned to May 17 and 18 for hearing.
